Featured image – i messed up… :-(

Hi,

I’m using Events Calendar Pro for a client, and very happy with it. See http://www.sijthoff-leiden.nl/agenda.
After last updates, and tweak NOT to show featured images on single events pages (used answer topic: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/hide-featured-image-on-single-event-pages/) i can choose a featured image at all. At the back-end of WordPress the option right under isn’t there anymore. Can you help me with this?

Thanks for reaching out to us and sorry to hear about this issue! Let’s see what’s going on here…

First of all, I don’t think that the change in Casey’s reply could break the featured image functionality in the back-end as it’s a template tweak.

Just to confirm the issue you are seeing here is that featured image is not enabled for events in the back-end, right?

I see you marked as this was tested with a default theme and no other plugins active, Can you confirm this? Any differences when tested under default conditions?

Hi,

Thanks for looking with me… I just switched of all plugins, that wasn’t helpful. Switch to theme Twenty Sixteen was, featured images option came back.

I was just searching through files i might changed but nothing weird there. Installed WordPress again, only thing i can think of now is reinstall the theme. When i do that, will it remember preferences? Or is there another way…?

If you switched the theme and it started working, then we can narrow this down to a theme issue. Re-installing WordPress is a step to try but I don’t think it will make any difference.

Not sure what you mean by preferences. Maybe you are referring to theme options? Those should be stored in the database and shouldn’t change if the theme is updated or re-installed. Any way I would recommend doing a back-up of the theme folder and/or reachign out to the theme support if you are not sure about it.

I’m still not 100% sure of what the issue is: Just to confirm the issue you are seeing here is that featured image is not enabled for events in the back-end, right? (from my previous reply), please let me know about it.

Hi,

Re-installing the theme (Galanight Premium) did the trick, thank you. And to confirm, the issue was indeed that there was no possibillity to pick a featured image.
