ModeratorHey Chris,
Welcome back! Forgive me, but it’s been a fairly long day. Can you please elaborate on what exactly you’re looking to do? If you can provide any examples, including links to other sites with similar features, screenshots, and/or screencasts, it would be appreciated.
Thanks and have a pleasant rest of your day. Cheers!

ParticipantI have to manually update the upcoming events bar content. I was wondering if there was short code I could use to auto-update this infor using the featured even classification.

ModeratorHello again,
You can use the [tribe_events] shortcode to display Featured Events. For example:
[tribe_events view="list" tribe-bar="false" featured=true]More info on the [tribe_events] shortcode can be found in our Embedding Calendar Views with the [tribe_events] Shortcode tutorial.
I have to manually update the upcoming events bar content.
How are you currently pulling in Featured Events into your home page? Let me know if this helps and take care.

ParticipantI am currently using a custom element and I’m having to update it manually every time.
I used the short-code as you suggested, but I would like to now if I can change what’s being displayed on the page. The first picture shows generally what I would like it to look like (no picture or sidebar). The second picture shows what information is displayed when I use the short-code.
Is this possible

ModeratorAny features/functionalities not included with the plugins will require either the use of additional plugins and/or custom code, which we’re unable to provide. Additionally, seeing this relates to a theme customization, there’s very little support I’m able to provide.
Your best bet is to explore the Themer’s Guide to familiarize yourself with creating/saving customizations. I’d also explore the following resources pertaining to styling/customizing event-related content:
- https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/themers-guide
- https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/stylesheets-and-page-templates
- https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/wp-admin-settings-overview
- https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/changing-fonts-and-colours
- https://css-tricks.com/methods-overriding-styles-wordpress
One last idea is to submit features you’d like seen incorporated into future releases. Check out our UserVoice Feature Ideas for complete details.
Good luck and have a great week 🙂

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
