ParticipantDear support,
I’m using the twentyseventeen theme and Events Calendar Pro. As of two days there is a bug on the single events page. The featured image shows up twice (see screenshot). Since the site is not live yet I will prefer to send the link to the site in a private message afterwards.
Before upgrading to pro, this “bug” would occur when choosing “Default Page Template” in the Display Settings of the Events Calendar. With “Default Events Template” everything looked OK. Now I get double images regardless of which option I choose.
I have deactiveated all other plugins except events calendar and events calendar pro.
Switching to twentyfourteen eliminates the problem. So it seems that it is a theme conflict?! What puzzles me, is that this problem just turned up recently. Perhaps related to an update of the events calendar?
A quick unrelated basic question: I understand for most of the customization at least some level of dealing with code is required. I was just wondering if there is anyway to make a simple layout change (e.g. I’d like the events meta box and map to be horizontally next to my event description instead of below it) without coding? Would another theme automatically produce such a layout?
Thank you very much in advance!
Cheers,
Martin

MemberHello Martin
I haven’t been able to reproduce this issue.
I see that you are running the latest version of WordPress and our plugins. Twenty Seventeen https://wordpress.org/themes/twentyseventeen/ had an update available within the past day as well. Did you run that as well? And have you added any other customizations?
Does this same thing happen with all other plugins disabled?
Hoping we can narrow this down quickly for you.
Thanks

ParticipantHi Courtney
thanks for your reply!
I have deactivated every plug-in except The Events Calendar and The Events Calendar PRO. I also tried deactivating PRO – problem still persists.
I had a minor custimization to single-event.php in the tribe-events/pro/photo/ folder but I have now deleted the whole tribe-events folder from my twentyseventeen folder. Still the same problem.
I haven’t added any other custimization to twentyseventeen.
I have tested in other browsers and devices: chrome, edge, chrome on android. All the same issue.
Any other ideas what the problem might be?
Thanks,
Martin

MemberHello Martin
Are you still experiencing this issue? Have you run updates recently to the theme or our plugins?
I ask because when I visited your site with the event you sent in a screenshot, I only saw the expected 1 featured image.

Let me know if you are still experiencing this issue.
Thanks

ParticipantHi Courtney,
sorry, I had temporarily changed to another theme (Shapely by Colorlib). I have now switched back to Twentyseventeen and the problem is still there. I will leave Twentyseventeen activated for the next 48 hourse as I won’t have time to work on the site anyways. So if you have a moment, perhaps you can see if you can find any other clues as to what the problem might be. All other plugins are currently deactivated on the site.
If the problem can’t be resolved, don’t worry too much about it. I am anyways inclined to switch to another theme. Would still be good to figure out the reason for this incompatibility though.
Thanks ๐
Martin

MemberHello Martin
That is weird to see this happening with Twenty Seventeen https://wordpress.org/themes/twentyseventeen/.
Have you added any customizations to Twenty Seventeen?
I would love to narrow down this conflict if you stick with this theme. I have tested using the same theme and can’t reproduce the issue myself.
Thanks

MemberHello Martin
I’ve submitted the bug for a fix, and will notify you as soon as that update is available. Until then, you could approach this workaround 2 different ways:
Can you add the following code to your child theme, or in Appearance ยป Customize ยป Additional CSS?
.single-featured-image-header img {display: none !important}OR
.tribe-events-event-image img {display: none !important}Sorry for this inconvenience.
Thanks
