ParticipantHi, I used event calendar for some time, but because I wanted a calendar widget I bought and uploaded Pro. But when I activated it, I couldn’t get into my dashboard. I only got this message: Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 36962304) (tried to allocate 77824 bytes) in /var/www/nieuworganiseren.nu/www/wp-admin/admin-header.php on line 120
I deactivated and deleted the files, so now I can use the site again, but I would like to use the Pro-version I bought.May 15, 2013 at 6:48 am #48573Barry
MemberAn out-of-memory error doesn’t always mean your hosting environment doesn’t have enough memory – but it’s definitely a possibility.
Can you check in with your web host and ask what the PHP memory_limit setting is? We’d recommend at least 64M (remembering that as of PHP 5.3 the default value is 128M).
If that doesn’t work, please try running through our standard troubleshooting steps:
* Please ensure that your Modern Tribe plugins are up-to-date and in-synch … for instance if you are using The Events Calendar 2.0.11 you must also use Events Calendar PRO 2.0.11
* Deactivate all other plugins and change your theme to a default, unmodified one such as Twenty Eleven or Twenty Twelve
* Now test to see if the problem still exists
* If the problem has been solved by these steps, start reactivating everything one-at-a-time, testing at each point to see if the issue has returned
* If the issue does return, take note of whichever plugin (or theme) you reactivated immediately before it started again – it’s likely there is a conflict with this item
Thanks!

ParticipantHi Barry,
php memory limit size is not the issue, we’ve covered that. We also deactivated some other plugins, but the problems seems to lie in Event Calendar Pro in combination with one of the other plugins or the theme, which is Mediamag of Solostream.
Is there a known problem with the All in one SEO-plugin?May 15, 2013 at 7:06 am #48577Barry
MemberOK, so have you run through those troubleshooting steps and managed to isolate whichever theme/plugin is causing the problem?
I’m not aware of issues with All-in-One SEO Pack but there certainly could be an issue. Again, have you determined this by running through those troubleshooting steps?

ParticipantHi Barry,
We thought we solved the issue, but today I encountered an internal server error. The only thing I did was filling in the license key for The Events Calendar Pro and changing default view for events to list. Then the server started thinking an it turned to the 500 page. Please help

MemberAre you able to login to your site (and if so can you try the troubleshooting steps outlined in my initial reply)?
Are you also able to access the server error logs – you may need to speak to your web host for help with this if you are unsure where they are stored – and check out any error messages that correspond to the same date and time as when the 500 errors occur?

ParticipantLast week we did these steps, and it seemed to function well. But this morning…
The host rebooted the server and it seems to work again. This is not the first time; the last time we changed the memory limits, but I will ask them what it says in the logs and to check the memory again.May 21, 2013 at 7:05 am #49161Barry
MemberOK. It’s starting to sound like an environmental problem more than anything, but if you can get back to us with more information such as an error message pointing to one of our plugins or else a set of steps which can be repeated to recreate this problem then we can have a think about options to solve this.

ParticipantAs I understand now, the ini was set to 512Mb, but the server limited it to 64MB. Now, what they did was changed the website to a php 5.3 server, which has a limit of 128MB. Hopefully this does the trick. Do you think it could?

MemberPotentially, if that was the root problem then yes. Though 64M is generally enough to get by remember that that setting alone does not guarantee 64M will actually be available.
