Hi –
We’re experiencing a problem with WordPress cron job failing on one of our Event Calendar Pro sites. On investigation, we see it triggering a fatal error, as described by our dev below:
“I started to walk through the errors, I first commented out the Fatal
Error shown here:
[28-Jan-2014 14:09:34 UTC] PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function tribe_get_option() in /public_html/wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/lib/tribe-presstrends.php on line 62
That led me to:

So, I reverted the changes to leave the site functional.”Can you shed any light on this issue? We’re using a rather old vers of ECP, I’m afraid, but we did a lot of customisation of this site, so I’d rather not go through the hassle of upgrading to ECP 3 until I have proper time for testing.
Can you advise?

Presstrends is no longer a part of/no longer ships with The Events Calendar and so though I can appreciate your reluctance to update I think the best course of action if you really have to stick with an older version is manually adjust the code to avoid this error, perhaps by disabling Presstrends altogether or at least during cron jobs.
We normally wouldn’t recommend editing core plugin code, but in this case updating (if you do update in the future) would be almost akin to installing a new plugin anyway and so long as any edits were done with care it would probably help you to resolve this.
Beyond that suggestion I am afraid there isn’t much else we can offer on this one. Does that help at all or at least give you a direction you can explore?
