I am using events calendar and have upgraded to events calendar pro to get recurring events. I uploaded it but when I tried to activate it I received the following error. This has crashed the entire website so I can’t even login.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function tribe_is_map() in /home/qmsaudit/public_html/wp-content/themes/jupiter-child/functions.php on line 161

Good evening Julian and welcome back!

First off, I would like to apologize for the delay answering.
We are currently experiencing a higher level of requests than usual.

Please rest assured that we are working hard at correcting this situation.
We appreciate your patience while we try to normalize things.

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We are sorry to hear that your site crashed while trying to add the Events Calendar Pro. Yikes!
I would love to help you with this topic.

What is going on is that there are some customizations for our calendar that are sitting in the functions.php file of your Jupiter Child theme. These customization are most likely using deprecated functions which break the site.

In other words, short term, you will need to remove them to get your site back up AND user the Events Calendar.

    Here’s what I would suggest:

If the error in question is stopping you from accessing your website dashboard (/wp-admin/), you need to find a way to disable our plugins temporarily.

To do so, you will need FTP or File Manager (via CPanel) access:

    1. Find the following folder on your installation: /wp-content/plugins/events-calendar-pro/
    2. Rename it to something like /wp-content/plugins/z_events-calendar-pro/
    3. This will deactivate the plugin and let you access your dashboard again.

Once you do, you can revert the name change back to /wp-content/plugins/events-calendar-pro/ , the plugin will stay deactivated.

Next, I would remove all the customizations temporarily.

This is usually found in either the <b>/tribe-events/</b> folder of your WordPress theme’s directory or in its <b>functions.php</b> file.

Simply temporarily rename the <b>/tribe-events/</b> folder of your WordPress theme’s directory to <b>/z_tribe-events/ </b>AND scour your functions.php for any “tribe” string and comment these out. At the very least, you should do that with line 161 of /wp-content/themes/jupiter-child/functions.php

Once that is done, you should be able to reactivate the Events Calendar Pro without your site crashing.

You could then reactivate your customizations one by one until you find the ones that break the site (need updating).

Let me know how that goes.

    Best regards,
    Geoff B.

Hey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.

    Thanks so much!
