ParticipantFor the last several weeks I have experienced a problem that another user addressed but which hasn’t been resolved on this forum: https://tri.be/support/forums/topic/import-facebook-not-working. The Facebook importer was working fine but stopped inexplicably before the most recent update.
I can access the Facebook page under settings but not the “Import: Facebook” tab (http://urbanitenews.com/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=tribe_events&page=import-fb-events). At different times, the page will either partially load, give me a 500 error or a content encoding error message. Please see screen shots below.http://urbanitenews.com/?p=1945

http://urbanitenews.com/?p=1944When the importer page did load, I noticed that not all events imported were checked off and listed under my draft event posts. This requires me to check and manually import these events, which I cannot do if the page times out. As this is a website for a community newspaper, I am importing automatically events from 84 Facebook pages.
I am currently running updated versions (3.3) of The Events Calendar, The Events Calendar, Facebook and Community events on WordPress 3.8. The problem started before the recent updates to Event Calendar plugins and WordPress. I’ve deactivated all plugins and couldn’t find a conflict. I’ve contacted my host (GoDaddy) and was told there was no problem on their end. I’ve increased the PHP memory allotment as a Band-Aid solution for the timeout but that didn’t help. I’ve tried accessing the page on other computers and browsers to no avail. I’ve also changed from automatic to manual import after first decreasing import frequency from twice daily to daily.
This error is crippling an important aspect of my business so prompt assistance is appreciated. Thanks.

MemberI’m sorry to hear you’ve been hitting these difficulties.
The sporadic nature of these issues is really quite puzzling and I am struggling to imagine why our code/that particular admin screen would result in the Content Encoding Error you captured.
Though your host has told you there are no issues on their end, is it possible to inspect the sever error log and see if there are entries corresponding to these failures that might shed some light on the problem? Approximately how many events are sitting on Facebook and are pending import, do you know?

ParticipantI’ve contacted GoDaddy and they’ve reviewed my website error logs. They won’t trouble shoot third party plugins but did check the mod_security to see if too many requests are being sent because of the plugin and found no problems. Where can I submit my system information and error logs to you as I’m unable to interpret them myself?
I am unsure how many events are sitting on Facebook and aren’t being imported as I’m currently trying to import from 84 pages. I’m expecting to fetch up to a couple hundred a month since I’m running a robust city events calendar. If I submit my system information with all the pages I’m fetching from you can review events listed on Facebook that aren’t importing to my website. I need to have this issue resolved as soon as possible; is there another support method I should be resorting to? Thanks.

MemberIf you can share your error logs and system info here (if they are long or there are multiple files please use a service like Dropbox – or even make them accessible by uploading them to your WP site) that would be great. You can use our private reply facility if you prefer.

No – here on the forum is the correct venue for support requests.
