    Hello,
If you compare the two events listings below then the imports from facebook and the website, the dates, titles and images are correct but the venue details are all mixed up and confused.
    The URLs are
    http://www.thebaldyhollyband.com/events/
    and
    https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-Baldy-Holly-Band/175884615800967?sk=events
Please can you check and advise on the issues. I’ve tried to delete all the events and reimport but it is still wrong.
Please can you also update on the reported issue where the dates default to a certain time even if one isn’t entered on Facebook.
    Thanks

    Hello n1112997,

Thanks for contacting us and sorry you are having these issues! It think you may have caught a bug in our code.

I’ve tried to manually import these events from Facebook to my own install, and I am unable to reproduce the problem this way.

From what I can tell though, when I auto imported your events, Facebook events without a venue are given the venue of the previously imported venue. I’m betting there is a loop that doesn’t clear the venue variable from the previous event. (*maybe*)

For now, importing each event individually should be a suitable work around, or changing the venue after import. This only took an extra 3 minutes for me.

I have created a ticket [#28950] and will update this thread when we release the fix.

Could I get a link to the other issue you mentioned?

Thanks for bringing this to our attention!

    Cheers!

    Hello,
Thanks for replying. I’ve removed all the events and then reimported one by one but it still does the same. To resolve, I’ve manually changed all the venues which works for now. This is a bit of a ball-ache though and it’d be good to have a proper fix.
At the bottom of the venues list, there’s a section called “Available Venues” with the Tyne Theatre being the only entry. The system then seems to default to this option.

Also, Is it possible to say don’t import any events which match a certain pattern? Ie. one that’s marked Private Function?

The other ticket I mentioned is this one: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/facebook-event-without-time-import/

    Hello n1112997,

There is a ‘Default Venue’ setting in WP-Admin > Event Settings > Default Content tab. (but that is only for Pro users) This may be the problem but I think the problem is still the other bug.

The other issue is marked for ‘Next Release’ (version 3.8). We don’t give public timelines as the dates frequently change, but I would reasonably expect that bug to be fixed by the end of the summer. Important to note though that many times tickets are dropped and changed from the plans, as they may be technically difficult, deferred, or even impossible. Sometimes the Facebook API is very finicky.

Sorry we couldn’t be a more immediate help! I will close this thread for now but reopen once the bug is fixed.

    Cheers!

Thank you for your patience and understanding while we work on this.
