Facebook Events – Question about venues

Hi there,

I am currently running the free Events Calendar Plugin. I’ve started putting in venues myself with address, phone number, and website.

I was just wondering if I add the Facebook add-on, will the venues be matched up with the ones I have already entered? i.e. If I entered a venue as “The Hot Spot” located at “123 Main Street” and I imported an event from Facebook happening at “Hot Spot” happening at “123 Main”, will the add-on be able to know it’s the same place or will I end up with new venues/duplicates?

Thanks for the interest in our plugins.

I can help out here.

The Facebook plugin can map to venues already created.

However, it looks for a Facebook ID in this meta field _VenueFacebookID.

So if you create the venues beforehand it will duplicate them as it will not find the id there.
