ParticipantHi there,
Apologies, I’m pretty new at this wordpress stuff full stop. Anyway. I’ve installed the Event Calendar and the Import FB Events. I’ve been into the settings and put in the user id of the Faceache page that I want to import from – it’s bedfordesquires (I’ve also tried the id, 101037476843). I’ve deactivated the theme and the other plug in that I had installed. But nothing imports, and if I try to manually import a future event, I get this error:
The following errors have occurred:
Either the event with ID 159741557513601 does not exist, is marked as private on Facebook or we couldn’t reach the Facebook API
Please note that as a result, no events were successfully imported. The event isn’t marked as private, so far as I can work out. Any ideas? Clearly I’ve done something stupid, sorry.

ParticipantHi Simone,
I’m able to import events from this page just fine so it may be something with your server setup. Can you tell me what type of server you are on and your version of Apache, PHP and MySQL?
Thanks,

ParticipantHi Jonah,
It’s a Windows 2008 host, running PHP 5.4, Apache/2.2.3 and MySql 5.1.50.

ParticipantI’m wondering if it’s down to the cURL function not being enabled in PHP or something (no idea how to see if it is, mind) so I’ve contacted my hosting too, just in case it’s that.

ParticipantHi Simone,
Thanks for posting all that info. Please let us know about cURL and I’ll figure out when or if this needs to be escalated.

ParticipantHi Jonah,
cURL is definitely installed on the server. Is there anything else that could be required, server end? I’m talking to my hosts but they’re almost as clueless as me on this one…

ParticipantHi Simone,
I’ve created a ticket for one of our devs to take a look. I’ll give you an update as soon as I have one which might not be until Monday since we’re pushing up against the weekend here. Sorry for the delay on this.

ParticipantThanks! I think it probably is something server side, just not sure what.

ParticipantI had a hunch, and it worked! Changed my server over to linux, and that fixed it. Thanks! x

ParticipantSounds good Simone. We’ll still be looking into the issues with importing on Windows 2008, but I’m glad switching servers resolved things for you.
Let us know if you need help with anything else.
