GuestDear Tribe Team,
I am currently using the Time.ly plug-in but I am pretty unsatisfied. Now to my questions:
1. Is it possible to import public Facebook events and automatically load the event image which is on facebook, into the calendar. If yes, would this image show on the photo-view and other views of the calendar?
2. Once one has selected the facebook users and pages which are supposed to automatically synchronize with the calendar, is it possible to automatically put these events in a category too?
3. Is the calendar really fully responsive to browser sizes, and is there mobile-support?
4. Is it possible to integrate the calendar on other, possible static HTML websites? With a wordpress site being the primary page of course.
Greetings,

MemberHi Daniel,
Thanks for getting in touch and for your interest in our plugins 🙂
1. Yes! With our Facebook Events plugin, you can import public, non-restricted events into your calendar. The image comes with an will show in Photo View and other places the Featured Image is relevant.
2. I want to note first that the events don’t sync from Facebook to The Events Calendar, they import. So if you change the event on Facebook after importing it to TEC, the change won’t register on your WordPress calendar.
There is not a built in way to automatically categorize the imported events, although it’s possible that you could customize something. You can however chose to have the events come in as Drafts, so you’d be able to mark categories before publishing them. Although I know that for a large volume you’d really want something automatic.
3. The calendar is fairly responsive to browser sizes, but definitely not completely and it is not mobile ready. We might try improve the responsiveness in the future, but for now it is only somewhat responsive, and most sites are best viewed on a computer. I recommend that you download the free core plugin, The Events Calendar, so you can see if the current level of responsiveness will work for you.
4. Not at this time, no. There aren’t any short codes or other ways to place is on a static page. It’s a common request though, and one you can vote for on our User Voice forum. One person there has posted a way he did it with some custom code, so that might be an option too. But it’s not yet a built in feature.
Hopefully that answers your questions, but let me know if I can explain further or answer anything else 🙂
Best,

MemberOne potential avenue for customizing #2 would be to hook into ‘save_post’ and check if the post has a Facebook ID attached, if so, put it in the category.
