Edwin
ParticipantHello Modern Tribe,
I am considering purchasing Facebook Events, but I have a couple of questions.
I am not a Facebook user. However, the site I am working on does have a Facebook page. On this page, https://theeventscalendar.com/product/facebook-events/ there are two notes at the bottom.
Please note: This plugin requires a Facebook App ID and App Secret to work. You’ll need to register with Facebook to get these credentials prior to using the plugin.
Please also note: You may not be able to import events that Facebook deems adult in nature, including breweries, bars, night clubs, and adult entertainment. The Facebook API dictates that only public, unrestricted events are importable at this time.
1. In order to obtain the App ID and App Secret, do I have to be logged in to their Facebook page? Can I create a dummy Facebook account? The reason why I ask is that the guy who started the Facebook page refuses to share any of the info with me.
2. The site I work is a nightclub. Should I be concerned? Their Facebook page has all of their events showing.
Thanks,
Edwin

ModeratorHello Edwin and thanks for reaching out 🙂
I’d be happy to answer your questions.
1. You will need a Facebook account to use the Facebook Importer. You don’t have to have access to the venue/promoter’s Facebook account to import events from said venue/promoter’s Facebook feed of events. You do need a Facebook account – so a dummy account would theoretically work.
2. It really depends on if the venue/promoter has marked the events “Adult in nature.” We do offer a 30-day money back guarantee, so if you purchased the plugin and was unfortunately unable to import the events, we would be happy to refund your purchase in full.
Let me know if I’ve answered your questions with enough clarity and thank you again for contacting us via our Pre-Sales channel. Have a great rest of your week!
