ParticipantHi
I am getting various errors when clicking on Events>import>Facebook
on some sites i get 404 and on some i get ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE .I disabled all the other plugins and tried the default theme ,but the error persists. I have also moved servers and tried on a new install .
I am getting a 404 Not Found when i try

Please forward this error screen to sitename ‘s WebMaster.I am also getting

ParticipantHey @mumbaimeetups,
I’m really sorry to hear about these issues! While I’m glad that the first set of 404-related problems is resolved, your remaining problems with ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE seem to indicate that your server or webhost may be blocking the request(s) to Facebook.
Can you contact your web hosting provider and ask them to make sure that your site can make requests to Facebook’s API? Also, do you know if your site is behind a firewall or anything else like that?
Thank you!

ParticipantHi
Thanks for the reply. The site admin says a mod security rule which was being hit and whitelisted that. But i am still getting Unable to load the webpage because the server sent no data.
thanks

ParticipantI’m sorry to hear issues persist @mumbaimeetups!
I’m curious: what is the specific moment when the webpage fails to load for you?
What I mean is, for example, are you manually entering Facebook Event IDs in the import screen, and then when you click “Import” things fail?
Or does the page where you can enter Facebook Event IDs itself not even loading for you now?

ParticipantHi
The import is working now and i can see the import list.
I have a list of pages from where it imports.Maybe this was related to the 503s or other 5XX errors reported on twitter today? https://twitter.com/TheEventsCal/status/643826759910223872

ParticipantHi
The page just does not load
http://site/wp-admin/edit.php?post_type=tribe_events&page=import-fb-events
yesterday after day it loaded . But today the same issues.
Ok I think this could be the reason
we check 120 pages for new events. When i reduced it to 20 .it loads fine.
Would be nice to have a feature where the fb plugin check 20 pages at a time.
Thanks
will update later if it still gives issues

ParticipantHey @mumbaimeetups,
This indeed appears to be the problem:
we check 120 pages for new events. When i reduced it to 20 .it loads fine.
If you have too many pages, the request will time out and fail to load.
I’m sorry I didn’t clarify that earlier in our conversation here!
Your suggestion about only loading 20 or so pages at a time is a good one, and we are hoping to include support for “batch” imports at some time in the future. I do not have an ETA on when this feature will arrive, or if it definitely will, but it’s something we hope to include in a future update.
Stay tuned to plugin updates – for now, I hope that importing things piecemeal in 20-page-bursts or so is still a useful solution for your site.
I will close up this thread for now but if other issues arise, open a new forum thread any time! 🙂
Thanks,
George -
