ParticipantHi,
I’d like to purchase https://theeventscalendar.com/shop/facebook-events/ for my calendar-pro (pre 3.0). I wonder if it will provide all required functionality.
First of all, I’m not sure how it manages import of events. There are many events, where you need to be like fanpage to access. How does your plugin manage this? Can facebook App become friends with the fanpage and thus access contents of the events listing of that fanpage?
Second, I’ve customised your calendar quite allot, I also added thumbs. Check: http://holiday.ge/en/events/category/tbilisi/
I’ve also added quite allot of custom fields:

MemberHi Sandro,
Thanks for getting in touch and for your interest in adding Facebook Events.
There are many events, where you need to be like fanpage to access. How does your plugin manage this? Can facebook App become friends with the fanpage and thus access contents of the events listing of that fanpage?
Because of how the Facebook API works, our plugin can only import events that are marked as public on Facebook. Events that are marked as Friends Only or for Friends of Friends cannot be imported. Does that answer you question?
I’m not sure about the customizations. I’ll have Jonah weigh in here when he’s back online on Monday. He can hopefully shed some light on the issue.

ParticipantHi Sandro,
With the Facebook Events plugin, you can either manually import events from a page one at a time or multiples or auto import events on a Hourly, Twice Daily, Daily or Weekly basis and all new events will automatically be imported at one of those intervals, whatever you have set. To setup importing, you simply either have to input the page ID to be able to select multiple events to import or run auto imports, or you can also manually import individual events by retrieving their event ID from Facebook. Does that answer your questions there?
On the custom fields I’m not quite sure what you are asking. Are you saying you have custom fields you’ve setup at Facebook that you’d like to have imported into WordPress? If so, you would likely need to modify the plugin to accomodate this. We grab all the standard event data like title, description/content, start/end date, venue, organizer, and featured image. Any other information that you want to pull you would need to figure out how to do on your own.
I hope that answers all your questions but let me know if you have any others.

ParticipantHi, with custom fields I mean, additional fields of events calendar. I’ve set-up quite number of them. And completely disabled venue/organiser

http://imageshack.us/a/img90/8008/screenshot20130530at339.pngobviously I will have to modify your plugin to accomodate all these fields. But I’d like to have your opinion as developer, how hard will it be to extend existing plugin vs writing a completely new one? I mean if I use yours and have to rewrite all to get required functionality makes no sense, but if architecture of plugin is well done and I can easily add my requirements… THis is my question 🙂

ParticipantHi Sandro,
I understand now. This would be fairly difficult to do unless you’ve got some decent PHP skills and you may need to actually hack the plugin to get things working the way you want, mapping the custom field data from the venue/organizer for the events being imported. We wouldn’t really be able to help you much with this since it’s going to require customization and some hacking to get it working.
I hope that answers your question, but let me know if you have any others.
