Excluding Categories on Main Calendar

Is there a way to exclude categories from the main calendar, but still be able to embed them on the page specific to their events?

Sure it’s possible with the following snippet:

You have to place it in your theme’s (or child theme’s) functions.php file, and make sure to change the sample excluded categories for the ones in the actual site!
