I’m struggling to accomplish something that so far has eluded me. Hoping you can advise.

    1. I want to include events from the calendar in my main blog loop on the homepage, and I found the settings toggle to accomplish this: “Show events with the site’s other posts. When this box is checked, events will also continue to appear on the default events page.”That looks good. Except that it includes recurring events as multiple blog posts. Which doesn’t look good. So I dug around for a solution.

    2. Basically I want to to exclude recurring event instances from the main blog look on the homepage so that only the first instance of each recurring event appears in the main blog loop. I found the settings toggle to accomplish this: “Show only the first instance of each recurring event.” Except, it either isn’t working or doesn’t really solve my problem.

In short, I’d like to have all events populate the events module per recurring instance, but only appear in the blog loop once. Am I missing something? Hope so!

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi virtualdavis,

There isn’t actually any baked in means of doing this – that particular setting only impacts on The Events Calendar’s own list style views. However, you can probably tweak things if you’re happy to drop some code like this into your theme’s functions.php file.

    Does that help at all?
