Can’t seem to establish how I would prevent “past” events from being viewed when using the “previous event” link from a single event view page. This would be short of deleting the past events. I’m sure it’s something obvious I’m missing. :-/
    Thoughts?

    Hi Patti,

What exactly are you looking to accomplish through this? Do you not want the previous link displayed at all? Or, what you would have appear when clicking the link?

I want the previous link only to work when there is not a past event in line.

    Example:
    Event 1, start date = Jan 1, 2013
    Event 2, start date = Jan 23, 2013
    Event 3, start date = Jan 31, 2013
If I’m viewing the single page for Event 2, there are next/previous links for Event 1 (prev) and Event 3 (next).
Because Event 1 has already happened, I don’t want it to be linked to from Event 2.
No backwards navigation on the single event pages if event start date is prior to today.

*No backwards navigation on the single event pages if event start date is prior to today.

Should be: No backwards nav on the single event page if the PREV event start date is prior to today.

    Hi Patti,

That’s probably possible but you’d need to write some custom PHP for the logic and I can’t help you with that. I suggest taking a look at our documentation for tags and functions to help you with this: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/

    Good luck!
