ParticipantHello there !
I Use the pro version of Event Calendar.
I’m setting up art exhibitions which are closed on Tuesday every week.
The only way I saw to set that up was to make recurring events until a specific date, then custom setting the recurrence to Weekly and ticking every day excepting Tuesday. But this makes :
– the event appearing once every week in the list month view therefore 9 times, because by the way, the all events list start in the past month as the actual exhibitions started in November.
– the sidebar calendar widget to show the event 4 times in the list below.
– the words “Recurring Event” in the header of the event details. Which I understand why it renders this information but it’s not really a recurring event, just a long event with a day off every week.
I also want to exclude certain specific dates (24, 25 of December and 1st of January as we’re closed on these days). Is there a way to achieve that more simply, just telling this event will last for 3 months but is closed every tuesday and these specific days ? If I have to put my hands in PHP, it’s not a problem for me.
Bests regards

MemberHello,
That is an interesting setup you are trying to customize there.
First to remove events on a specific day you can edit the event single instance for the day and delete it on a recurring event.
For the most part though you are at the limitations of the plugin. It was not designed for a recurring event to by a long running events with days off. I afraid we do not really have anything for you on this to help out.
Let me know if you have any follow up questions
Thanks

ParticipantHello Brian,
Thank you for your fast support.
Ok, I understand the limitations of the plugin.
I’ll have to switch to Timely plugin which was not my first choice because of recurring instability issues and poor out of the box design but handles what I need.
Hope to get to you a day.
