Seems like a simple thing but cannot figure it out.

How can I exclude a single category from a list/calendar when using a shortcode in PRO?

It isn’t mentioned in the docs which worries me… 🙂

I want a calendar view of all events but excluding a single category (and children) – can anyone help?

    Cheers

    Hey Rob,

Thanks for reaching out to us!

Unfortunately there doesn’t appear to be a simple way to exclude a category from the event list widget settings. You can use “categories” as an argument when adding your shortcode to specify a specific category or categories to be displayed.

With this, maybe you could alter the way the events are added? Rather than categorizing the events to hide, maybe categorize the events to display?

Let me know if this helps.

    Thanks!

    Hey Josh – that’s a shame. I guess I was looking for a cat=”-10″ or something.

As you say, I’ve reorganised the events to be in two main categories so it makes them easier to separate.

That will do me for now, cheers for the reply.

    Hey Rob,

No problem, I’m glad the workaround is able to work for now.

I’ll go ahead and close this thread for now. If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to open a new one.

    Thanks!
