Hi Support-
I have a client that is using DIVI 3.0 with the Events Calendar Plug-in by Modern Tribe. We want to be able to have users sign up, register and pay for an event and then have that payment process thru their PayPal business acct.I am confused do they need Events Ticket or Events Tickets Plus to work with the Event Calendar plug-in? Which one do I need or what’s the difference?
Please advise. Lauren Britton
September 11, 2018 at 11:18 am #1618792CourtneyMemberHi Lauren
Both Event Tickets and Event Tickets Plus can use Paypal for a payment gateway.
Event Tickets Plus would handle this using an e-commerce plugin as well. We currently support WooCommerce or Easy Digital Downloads.Read more about each optionโs features and payment gateways. It would provide additional features specific to Plus, such as QR codes on tickets for checking in, custom fields, and more.
Event Tickets can connect with Paypal using Tribe Commerce. It may be a good starting point before determining if you want the additional features within Event Tickets Plus.
Is there anything else I can help you with?
Thanks
Courtney ๐September 11, 2018 at 4:53 pm #1619085Lauren BrittonGuestWe are creating a wordpress site using DIVI 3.0 and the Calendar Plug-in no eCommerce or WooCommerce at this time so perhaps Events Tickets add on with the Event Calendar Plug-in would suffice right? I would be able to add events in the Event Calendar but with the Event Tickets add on users can register and pay for a class which sends them over to PayPal to pay and sends my client an email that they registered correct? I would also be able to see how many registered per event using Events Tickets right? I just want to make sure that user can register and pay using that add on.
P.S. I like Events Tickets Plus because it has 24/7 support or you can send an email or chat to support and get an answer within one business day. That is important if something is not working right. With just the Event Tickets you just get access to a support forum and blog where you have to search through thousands of posts or tech documents right? I find that this kind of support is terrible because when I do a search in a support forum usually the search function does not work well and returns hundreds of articles that donโt pertain to your search at all.
Please advise on Events Tickets questions above and what sort of support it has. Can I email support with a specific question still?
September 12, 2018 at 10:40 am #1619825Lauren BrittonGuestP.S. You stated “Event Tickets can connect with Paypal using Tribe Commerce.” Would I have to download or buy Tribe Commerce or is Tribe Commerce built into the checkout pages within Event Tickets that would eventually link to a PayPal acct.?
September 12, 2018 at 12:23 pm #1620003CourtneyMemberHey Lauren
Tribe Commerce is a setting within Event Tickets. You would use it, or use WooCommerce to connect to Paypal in Event Tickets Plus. You would not be able to do both. https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/tribe-commerce-paypal/ is our tutorial to set it up.
It does sound like you’re on the right track starting out with just The Events Calendar and Event Tickets. Both of these may meet your needs.
The additional support does come with the pro/plus version of our plugins. But we do allocate some staff hours to our .org support forums. https://wordpress.org/plugins/the-events-calendar/ and https://wordpress.org/plugins/event-tickets.
Is there anything else I can help you with?
Thanks

OK we are not using WooCommerce to sell tickets to our events but rather I would like to use the Event Calendar Plugin with Events Tickets and if I am understanding you correctly Tribe Commerce is built into the Events Ticket Plug-in correct? Can you send me to a landing page that shows how to setup Events Ticket Plug-in with Event Calendar and be able to charge users for event tickets thru TribeCommerce/Events Ticket to PayPal? This link that you sent me https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/tribe-commerce-paypal/ talks about making the integration between Events Tickets and PayPal and how to modify the Success page and what it displays. Please send links on setting up Tribe Commerce/Events Tickets to sell tickets thru the Event Calendar Plug-in.I need 2 components to my wordpress site to display events and sell tickets for those events:
– Events Calendar Plugin (already installed)
– Event Tickets/Tribe Commerce – creates theme pages for checkout to order a ticket for an event that would link to PayPal acct.I don’t need to install a Tribe Commerce plug-in also. Trying to summarize what this project requires and any cost related to it. You also mention phone support but when I go to the Phone Support page link I don’t actually see a phone # to call – https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/phone-support/. I would prefer to have some sort of support via phone or email vs. just a browsing a support forum for tech documents. If I have to pay extra I will but I don’t need Events Tickets Plus since I am not using WooCommerce or any other ecommerce platform for this site and would prefer using the built in Tribe Commerce that comes with Event Tickets. Would like Event Tickets to simply return a confirmation # and email the recipient a receipt no need for QR codes etc just complications the whole process for the client.
Sorry for all the questions. Lauren Britton
September 13, 2018 at 10:42 am #1621089CourtneyMemberHey Lauren,
Yes, Tribe Commerce is a feature of Event Tickets. https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/tribe-commerce-paypal/ is our guide to set it up.
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/new-user-primer-event-tickets/ is our guide on setting up Event Tickets overall.
Just install Event Tickets and get started checking it out.
So sorry for any confusion. I didn’t mention phone support as we do not offer that. Support for Event Tickets is handled on https://wordpress.org/plugins/event-tickets, not here in the help-desk.
Our threads from the help desk do get sent as email notifications back to you, and we are getting close to migrating our help desk to another platform that will also send you email responses.
Event Tickets does email ticketholders a receipt. It’s free so check it out and let me know what you think.
Thanks
Courtney ๐September 13, 2018 at 11:43 am #1621200Lauren BrittonGuestThanks Courtney I have gathered a bunch of tutorial links to various articles on using Events Tickets with Events calendar. What I cannot find is how do I create a new ticket and link it to a particular event. Each event will have different prices/tickets so I’d like to know how I do that. If you could send a link great. Thanks! Lauren Britton
P.S. Just to confirm I do not need to install any Tribe Commerce plug-in correct that is built into the Events Ticket Plug-in right?
September 14, 2018 at 11:12 am #1622260CourtneyMemberHey Lauren
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/making-tickets/ can help you create tickets. You’ll activate The Events Calendar first, and then install Event Tickets.
Create an event, then within the event https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/important-settings-events-calendar-events-calendar-pro/#newevent, then add a ticket https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/making-tickets/.
And Tribe Commerce is not an added install. All features are contained within Event Tickets.
Thanks
