    Hi,
First, I want to start by saying that I love your plugin. Thanks for all your hard work on it. I do have an issue I am running into. I have a client that is selling classes that are multiple day classes. You can see an example here: http://dev-artinternational.pantheonsite.io/event/carrollton-ga-basic-art-training/. So, it is one event with one ticket that lasts multiple days. I see that in essence it works by just setting an end date and time but I feel like the way it is displayed is very confusing. If you look at the example it makes it seem like it starts at 9:00 AM on November 17th and ends at 5:00 PM on the 19th. What it really should do is list out each day and the time slots for each day. I feel like that would make more sense from a user standpoint. I guess I have a couple questions. First, are you guys working on any feature like that or is there a way to do that with the current release? If not I guess I would just have to build onto it and modify the templates myself, correct?

    Hey Joseph,

Thank you for your kind words! We are always happy to hear if someone likes our work.

So, for the scenario you described probably a recurring event would be suitable. You will need Events Calendar PRO to be able to set up recurring events.

You will need to set up one event for November 17th, 9-to-5, then create a rule to make it recur every day until November 19th.

Would that work for your case?

    Cheers,
    Andras

    Hi Andras,

Thank you for getting back to me. Honestly, I don’t think that really works in this situation. The reason I say that is with recurring events it basically creates duplicate events for each day that are tied together. Unfortunately, it has a different ticket for every day. So if I go to the event as a customer and by a ticket for November 19th I am just purchasing it for that day. This scenario is more of a 3 day class which means I am looking at one event that is a class that is 3 days long. The class has a start and end time each day but the one ticket purchase is for all 3 days of classes. Do you see why your solution would not work in this case? Any thoughts on what we could do?

    Hi Joseph,

So if I understand correctly, your scenario is having one three-day event, for which you are selling 1 ticket only, and not 3 tickets separately for the three days.

This is actually what recurring events (with Events Calendar PRO andΒ  Event Tickets Plus) does.

When you create a recurring event, then yes, you can call the events on the 2nd and 3rd day duplicates if you want. (Though for me a duplicate is something with exactly the same data. The recurrences have at least a different date.)

If you create a ticket for a recurring event, then the same ticket will be created for all recurrences. You will be able to see a ticket form on all three days, but the tickets will be the same. So if you buy the ‘Single’ ticket on November 17 or on November 19, you are buying the same ticket, which you can use for the full 3-day event.

When you create a ticket you can give it a full description beside the title where you can say that the ticket is for the three days.

This screenshot might be also helpful.

At the moment we don’t support tickets for recurring events in the sense that if you set up a ticket for a recurring event, then a separate ticket will be created for all recurrences.

I hope this gives a clearer picture of the case.

Let me know if you have any further questions. I’d be happy to answer.

    Cheers,
    Andras

    Hi Andras,

Thank you for clarifying how it works. I am not sure why I though it was a separate ticket for each day but I see now that it is the same ticket for all three days. Also, adding a description to the ticket is a great and simple way to eliminate the confusion. Thanks so much for your help with this.

You’re so welcome Joseph, I’m happy I could be of help!

It’s easy to get lost in the details of the inner workings of a plugin. πŸ™‚ Also, a lot of people are looking for the feature of being able to create separate tickets for recurring events, which we don’t have yet. We are looking into ways of how that could be done.

Since this is marked resolved I am going to close this ticket, but if you need anything else related to this topic or another please create a new ticket and we’ll be happy to help.

    Good luck with your project!

    Cheers,
    Andras

PS: If you like our plugins, and you didn’t yet do so πŸ™‚ we would be happy to receive a review in the wordpress.org repository. Thanks!
