ParticipantHello!
I created an event that repeated for 2 days. When saving I noticed it didn’t mention recurring event etc… Looking for the event I only found one instance of it. Editing the event it showed it was repeating for 2 days.
Created another test one. Same result. Created another test one for 3 days and it behaved as it should.
Reproduce: Create event. Select start date and times. Select recurring. Enter end date as start date + 1. Entered Title, venue, categories. Save.
Thanks.
Glenn.

MemberHi there, Glenn! Welcome back to the forums–and sorry you’re bumping into some trouble here.
It sounds like you’re having an issue where secondary instances of a recurring event are not showing up when you set the event to recur one day after the start date.
I tried the steps you provided–thanks for doing that, by the way!
- Create event: I went to Events > Add New and started a new Event post.
- Select start date and times: I selected December 22 8am as the start and December 22 5pm as the end.
- Select recurring: I selected “Every Day” recurrence.
- Enter end date as start date + 1: I set the recurrence to end the next day on December 23.
- Entered Title, venue, categories: Done.
- Save: Done.
Here is a screenshot of my recurring settings. Do these look the same as yours, except perhaps the date and time?
The events seem to display correct for me when I try this. For example, I see you are using Photo View on your site, so here’s how it looks on mine in Photo View as well. You’ll see the “See All” link properly appears and that does link to the full recurring series that shows both events.
Is there something else I’m missing? Are we on the same page so far? Let me know if these are the same settings you are using when creating your events and maybe we can work from there. You can also send me a link to an example if the issue is still popping up.
Cheers!

ParticipantHi – I have discovered the Event Rocket plugin is causing the issue.
When creating a two day event that starts at 8pm (this is the time I have found to fail – it might be after noon or after 6pm – i have not tested it further) the second day event is not created,
When Rocket is turned off it seems to be ok.

I have sent an email to the Rocket developer.
Can you test with rocket enabled and confirm issue? Maybe you have a close working relationship with the developer and can get his attention. After all it has been all of 3 minutes and no reply!!! Outrageous! 😛
Regards,
Glenn.

ParticipantFYI – This event using custom on every 2 weeks for fri and sat between 27MAR and 11APR should make 4 events but only makes 3. The second one on the 28th is missing. Probably the same issue. 🙁

ParticipantHello,
I believe I have resolved this issue (sort of).
I noticed that some of my events were changing the time due to the end of DST in the east coast of Melbourne. Looking at my DST settings in WP I had it set for “Melbourne” which was fair enough given the site was for Melbournians. Changing it to UTC+10 resolved the time changing issues (but it did put the time out by an hour at the moment so events lingered after midnight until they refreshed). It also seemed to fix the problem with 2 day events and the weird 2 day on every 2nd week one.
I don’t really know what was causing it. Something isn’t playing nicely with DST.
Regards,
Glenn.

MemberGreat sleuthing work! Man, sounds like you nailed it. 🙂
Nice job finding the conflict with Event Rocket. You did the right thing by notifying the author. I’ll see if I can’t do the same.
Interesting find with the Date Settings. It’s true that the plugin gathers its date settings from what’s set in WordPress, so it makes sense that what was selected there would help resolve the issue as well. I’ll make a note for our team to look at DST settings more closely and ensure there is no conflict, but it sounds like UTC is a good workaround for this case.
I’ll go ahead and close this thread since it sounds like things are pointed back on the right track, but please feel free to start a new thread if something else comes up and we’d be happy to help. We’ll also follow up with you here if we find out anything else with DST.
Thanks so much for your help!
Geiff
