ParticipantI just updated to version 3.5.2 of the Events Pro Calendar today, and tried to create a new event. When I published the event, the dashboard said the event had been created, but when I clicked the view event button, I got a 404 error.
The URL to the event details page is http://www.amfa.ca/event/2014-amfa-picture-day-1/
There seems to be a bug with the Events Calendar content box, because every time I add in the event time and date, location and organizer details, and hit update… when the page refreshes, all those fields that I had just set are empty, as if nothing saved.
Please help!

MemberHi Matt,
Thanks for contacting us and thanks for creating a forum post! 🙂
Sorry you are experiencing this problem! Two questions:
– Did you upgrade from 3.5.1?
– You say the dashboard says the event was created. Do they appear in the wp-admin with the other events? It might be a problem with permalinks. Could you try flushing them by resaving your permlinks in WP-Admin > Settings > Permalinks?
And just to clarify, this is when creating new events. Old events like this one http://www.amfa.ca/event/drop-in-house-clinics/2014-04-08/ were made before updating.
Does this make sense? Let me know if this doesn’t work for you.
Cheers!

ParticipantHi Casey…
1. Yes, I upgraded from 3.5.1
2. Yes, they appear in the wp-admin with other events.
3. It’s not a problem with permalinks. I updated them after installing the plugin update and the problem still persists.
4. And yes, this problem occurs when creating new events. It also occurs if I update an old event created prior to updating the plugin.April 28, 2014 at 8:06 am #144357Casey D
MemberThanks Matt,
It sounds like it might be a plugin or theme conflict. Could I get you to do two things?
– Can you confirm you disabled all plugins and changed your theme to a standard theme Twentytwelve? By reactivating them one a time we can find out where the conflict is, if it exists. It might be good to try this on a local or staging server.
– Can you privately reply with your system information? It will be listed at the bottom of the Events > Help tab. Thanks!

ParticipantWould love to test it on my local environment, but I can’t because it says I’m out of license keys, since the plugin is already licensed to the live URL. Can I simply disconnect and reconnect the key the local URL?

ParticipantAnd I disabled all the plugins, changed theme to Twenty Twelve, and the event URL that’s generated by the plugin still returns a 404. So something else is causing the problem.

MemberThat’s a little bizarre, sorry for the frustration!
Your plugin will work on local instances without registering.
On your production system, in the WP-Admin, at the bottom of the Events >Â Settings >Â Help tab, there will be a ‘systems settings’ box. Can you copy that and paste it into a private reply?
If you have access to your server access or error logs that *might* be enlightening, but I doubt it.
Does this make sense? Let me know if I can explain anything else!
Cheers!

MemberHello farleym,
This unfortunately doesn’t seem to be a standard problem that we’ve run into and it seems difficult to reproduce.
To clarify:
When you create a new event, every content field goes blank, but the title remains and a new entry appears on the Events page in WP-Admin. When you open the new empty event in the backend, there is no content in it. When you try to open the new empty event in the front end, it only gives you a 404.
This exact situation also happens on a previously made event, when you edit/update that event.
To confirm, are you using %postname% permalinks, and can you try resaving them one more time?
Does this make sense? Let me know if I can explain anything else!
Cheers!
