GuestHi,
I am looking to upgrade to the pro version of the events calendar but wanted to know if it can do a few things.
1. Can i change the layout of the events detail page,, maybe have columns and sidebars?
2. Can I add a shortcode to display an events list view? SO that I can actually have an events page rather than a pre-created events page that I can edit.
Regards
Andy

MemberHey Andy,
Good morning and welcome to the forums! I’m glad to hear you’re considering Events Calendar PRO for your project. 🙂
Events Calendar PRO does indeed include additional layouts:
- Day View: Displays a list view of events for a specific day
- Week View: Displays events for a given week in a horizontal agenda-like layout
- Map View: Displays events on a full-width Google Map with a correlating list of events below it
- Photo View: A masonry-style grid layout of events
What the plugin does not do it change the layout of the existing event details page, but you can do that today with The Events Calendar (free) either using template overrides to create a custom layout, or by heading to Events > Settings > Display and selecting one of your theme’s page templates with a sidebar as the calendar template.
Events Calendar PRO absolutely does include shortcodes that would allow you to embed the calendar’s List View on any WordPress page or post. Here’s a full overview of the shortcodes available in the plugin:

Does this help answer your question? Please let me know. 🙂
Cheers!

GuestHi Geoff
Thank you for your reply.
Just to confirm, I could then add an Events page to my site and rather than use the auto generated events page which you specify in the settings, add a shortcode to the new events page and that will display the same list display as currently?
The reason I want to do thi is to have a bit more customisation over the events page look and feel.
Regards
Andy

MemberHey Andy,
Absolutely. The shortcodes allow you to embed the calendar view anywhere, which then allows you to make one of your own pages the main calendar, if you prefer to not link to the auto-generated page (though that will still exist).

GuestWhen you say calendar view you also mean list view?

MemberYes, absolutely. You can see a list of all the available shortcodes for views in the post I provided earlier:

Let me know if you have any more questions and I’d be happy to help!
