Events Page Title Showing Vertical Bar Before Event Title

Hi there. The page title is showing up with a vertical bar ahead of the event title so the page title in the browser starts with this bar. This appeared after 3.0 upgrade. Confirmed it happens with the default theme as well.

Hi, Scott. I definitely see what you’re talking about when I check out your site.

I know it sounds different, but I wonder if what you’re seeing might be another symptom of an issue that users were experiencing with “Upcoming Events” appearing in the page title. Hi Scott!

This does indeed seem to be a problem when something other than the Default Events Template is selected. Can you try adding this snippet to your theme’s functions.php file (or some other suitable place) and see if that helps?

So, the snippet works if I edit to use if it IS the default template. I am using the default template and getting that error. Here is my adjusted code: http://pastebin.com/VkQs0sgr and here is the result: http://www.nsb.org/event/blood-drive-9/
Not sure why I’m seeing these problems with the default template when no one else is.

That is strange, I effectively see the reverse (the leading pipe appears when it is not the default events template which is being used). It could of course be a different cause in both circumstances – ultimately though it’s great you have a solution in place here 🙂
