ParticipantI am building a new website and I am using Events Calendar PRO for the first time. I have gone to the “Events Calendar Settings” and set the “Events URL slug” to “events”, but when I go to that URL (http://www.ruxnet.org/events) it shows me my home page content instead of the calendar. I have “Events Template” set to “Default Events Template”.
I am using WP 3.5.1 and my Theme is Kirigami from RocketTheme (http://www.rockettheme.com/wordpress-themes/kirigami)
NOTE: when I revert back to the 2011 WP theme it works fine.
Do you have any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this problem with my custom theme?

MemberPlease try logging in to your dashboard and then visit Settings > Permalinks – you don’t need to change or save anything, just visiting this page “flushes” the permalink rules and might just help here.
However, the problem may be deeper than that.
A number of users have reported difficulties when working with Gantry themes (such as your theme) and while we hope to be able to set aside some time to investigate this – and if appropriate develop a tutorial or series of tutorials to guide people through any changes they need to make to allow both to work in sweet harmony – right now there is, regrettably, not a lot we can do to help here.
Have you approached the RocketTheme team and asked if they have any input on this?

ParticipantThanks for the reply, I am sorry to hear you don’t have a good solution for me. Yes, I contacted RocketTheme and they pointed me to a couple of articles on how to create a custom page template in Gantry but so far I have had no luck. Their comment about why this doesn’t work is because of the way Gantry works, it seems it doesn’t use the traditional loop as other WP theme frameworks.
The articles they pointed me to are:

If you have any suggestions to point me in the right direction to see if I can find a solution I’d appreciate it.

MemberI can’t really offer anything beyond what they have suggested, I’m afraid.
There are a few theme frameworks out there, Gantry included, which – although they doubtless provide an excellent foundation for building themes – are structured in a way that differs notably from the norm. That is partly how each builds in its own set of unique selling points, however it can on occasion be problematic when the time comes to use other plugins, etc.
We do plan to look into compatibility with Gantry at a future date and if possible we will write a set of tutorials to support our Gantry-userbase … right now however I could only recommend following their advice and even engaging a designer/developer to assist.
