    Events are failing to appear in the Map view of the calendar. With some testing, we’ve narrowed down the problem to them not having lat/long parameters.

    Since we’re using the Community Events module, users submitting the event can’t add lat/long at that point (they can only be added, manually and one by one, after the event is created) – so this is something of a major problem.

    This doesn’t appear to be a case of (the usual) Google API not recognizing the address format: I have tested creating a ‘new’ venue with exactly the same address and in the same format format as an existing venue with the result that the new venue fails to show up. The only difference between the two is that the first (being displayed correctly in map view) has lat/long data that has been manually added, and the other does not…

    Any ideas?

    Thanks for taking your time to report this.

    Unfortunately, we are aware of that issue with the Google Maps API returning an error when trying to fetch the venue coordinates.

    I will set this thread’s status to pending fix and link it to the bug report. We will notify you once a fix is shipped in one of our next maintenance releases of our plugins.

    The good news is that we’ve already found a fix for this and we are planning on shipping it next week.

    We apologise for the inconvenience and we appreciate your patience in the meantime.
