Events List widget on homepage footer showing old events

On the footer of the homepage I have the Event List widget to display upcoming events and it is showing last weeks events. I tried refreshing and clearing cache but still shows the old events. However, if I am signed in to the WordPress admin, the upcoming events are listed correctly.

As a first step, please update all Events Calendar related plugins to their most recent versions and then check to see if the issue is still occurring.

I updated the plugin to the latest version on Thursday and that seemed to fix it. But today, when I went back to check on it, the events listed are from September 2 and it’s still not showing the upcoming events. Can you see what is causing this?

It looks like you have caching in place – via a plugin called Hummingbird – so I suspect that may be the cause of this (ie, you’re viewing cached content).

If you disable that plugin/turn off caching, is the problem resolved? It may be possible to keep caching enabled and set up exceptions for various page elements, but you would need to work alongside the author/support team of that other plugin to figure out how (or perhaps you could simply adjust the settings, so the cache is refreshed at more regular intervals).

I updated the cache settings so it does not cache the events and now it shows the upcoming events. I’ll keep an eye on it but that may have resolved it. Thanks.
