    When I add the events list widget and filter by a specific taxonomy, the events displayed remain the same most upcoming events in the main events list, instead of being filtered. I have deactivated all plugins except modern tribe plugins to test for conflicts with no results. I dug through the plugin code and can’t seem to find anywhere where the taxonomy filtering would be happening like it should.

    The taxonomy filter DOES however make the “view all” link to the category page of the set taxonomy, so it’s infuriating that it isn’t filtering the actual list in the widget.

    I am running on all of the latest versions of
    Tribe Events
    Tribe Events Pro
    Tribe Events Filter Bar

    Hi Alex!

    I’m sorry you are having that issue. Let me help you with the troubleshooting.

    I tried to reproduce this in my my own local installation but the taxonomy set in the widget works fine on my end.

    Could you please share a link to the list widget where you are having the issue with and let me know of the taxonomy you have set for it?

    Just to confirm and make sure we are not dealing with a theme conflict, did you happen to notice a difference when switching to a default WordPress theme, like Twenty Seventeen? What happens if you try deactivating all plugins and switching to the Twenty Seventeen theme together? Do you notice a difference then?

    If you see no difference in those conditions, then we’ll need to do some deeper troubleshooting

    The taxonomy is an Event Category called “Outdoor Recreation.”

    I have tested for plugin/theme conflicts but following the usual steps, but am still unable to have the taxonomy set.

    I was able to resolve the initial issue locally. Turns out there was an override in functions.php preventing the filtering. Everything is resolved locally, but I have a new issue when in production – the event taxonomy dropdown opens and allows me to click a taxonomy, but won’t allow me to save it. When I click “save” it just reverts to empty. There are no JS errors in the console. Any thoughts on that?

    Thanks for following up with this.

    Good to know you could spot the source of the initial problem.

    As for the taxonomies not saving, it seems strange that is happening. If you are not able to reproduce it locally, then there might be a difference between the live site and your local installation.

    Have you tried deleting the widget and creating a new one from scratch? Is there any difference in doing this?

    Could you please enable WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG ? This will create a debug.log file inside the /wp-content directory.

    After that, try reproducing the issue a few times, so that in case there is an error, it will be saved into the debug.log file. Please share that log file with us so we can see if any problem from there.
