ParticipantHi,
I currently have the mini events calendar widget embedded on my home page. It is showing a maximum of 5 events below it. I want it to show more than that – let’s say 8 – but the only place I can see to change this setting is when you place this widget in the sidebar, which I do not want to do. Can anyone help?
Thanks!
Valerie

Thank you for reaching out to us. We’ll gladly answer your question.
I currently have the mini events calendar widget embedded on my home page. It is showing a maximum of 5 events below it. I want it to show more than that – let’s say 8 – but the only place I can see to change this setting is when you place this widget in the sidebar, which I do not want to do.
I am guessing this is because you want to make sure all other pages (but the home page) show only 5 events. Can you confirm ?
If you want to only impact the home page’s mini-calendar widget, there are a couple of ways to do this:
- Create a separate widget area just for the home page. This would be the easiest solution as you could use a separate copy of the mini-calendar widget with it’s own setting.
- You could “cheat” by adding a separate widget that’s meant to display only on the home page with the number of events you want. Then, through CSS, you can show/hide the 2 mini-calendar pages depending on which page your website’s visitor are on.
- You could program (more involved) a special functions to force the number of events to a certain value in the mini-calendar widget if the visitor is on the home page
I would be glad to help you with any of these if you need assistance.
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!

ParticipantHi Geoff,
I only have the mini-calendar widget embedded on the main home page – it is nowhere else on the site. I just can’t figure out how to make it list 8 events rather than 5.The only place I see to change the number of events listed is when setting up the mini calendar widget in a sidebar, which I do not have currently or want. I only want the mini-calendar widget embedded in the main home page body. Does this make sense?
Thanks,
Valerie

MemberGood afternoon Valerie,
Thank you for clarifying what you are looking to do.
In that case, I would just simply use a shortcode in the content of your WordPress page.
Something like[tribe_mini_calendar]or[tribe_events_list limit="10"].You can take a look at the complete list of our available shortcodes (and how to customize them) in the following post.
Let me know if that helps.
Have a great day!
