ParticipantHello, I am having trouble trying to make my events not look so jumbled together. My calendar has many events on it and when the calendar shrinks down to mobile view, the events below the calendar look like they are running together. Is there a way to put an alternating background color on them to differentiate them or Change the color of the title or put a bigger separator between events or bold the title or something. Please let me know. http://www.arizonateamroping.com

ParticipantAlso I need to add readonly=”true” to the date selector when you are looking at the calendar. Where would I add this, or how would I add this? PLease help. When a person clicks on the date to select the month they are wanting to view and the keyboard pops up. Can you advise how to fix this? Thank you.

MemberHello Wade
Can you send me a screenshot of what you are seeing? Here is the view I see. I’m hunting for the jumbled effect.

Thanks,
Courtney 🙂April 6, 2017 at 8:10 am #1265925Wade Baize

MemberHi Wade
Does the first part of your question still happen? Unfortunately, we’re a bit limited in the customizations we can provide. Most changes that you can make will impact mobile and desktop views.
- Start by modifying what you can at Appearance » Customize » The Events Calendar.
- Typically, don’t change the theme or plugin’s css files, they will be overwritten on updates. To avoid this, follow the steps outlined in Themer’s Guide
- Use overriding CSS files, or add CSS to your site using Appearance » Customize » Additional CSS.
- Use !important before a semicolon to override every css rule. It’s a brute force method, but works for quick fixes.
- Please check out this Customizing WordPress #2 – Using Chrome Developers Tools YouTube video in addition to our Using Chrome Developer Tools tutorial on how to easily make changes using CSS.
There isn’t a way to prevent the keyboard popping up. However, if a user selects a month in the drop box, the keyboard will go away when they reach the day the want.
I wish I had better solutions to offer you.
Let me know if you are able to get the custom colors working that you want.
Thanks,

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
