Hi
A number of my events are importing more than once
If you go to this webpage:
click next week at the top of the calendar
and go to Wednesday
you will see that Midweek Meetup has imported 4 times
On Saturday ‘Film Screening: Undertow (Javier Fuentes-León, 2009)’ has imported twice
How do I prevent this from happening?
January 11, 2018 at 8:11 pm #1424299CliffMemberHi again, Colm.
Please provide at least one of the URLs these events are duplicating from, and I’ll be able to take a closer look.
January 11, 2018 at 10:34 pm #1424361ColmParticipantThanks CLiff

January 13, 2018 at 6:17 am #1425470CliffMemberThat helps but I meant the iCalendar URL (or Facebook event link or CSV file) these are importing from.
Sorry I wasn’t clearer previously.

January 15, 2018 at 6:04 pm #1427103CliffMemberThanks. I’m unable to view the Meetup link because I’m not a member, but looking through our internal notes on known outstanding bugs, please tell me if either of these that are duplicating are:
- a recurring event
- a non-recurring event that had its details updated (e.g. date/time change or event title or description change)
- if this is true, do the duplicated events NOT have the updated information from the source (e.g. Facebook or Meetup) and instead have the old information (from the initial import of the event)?
Thanks for helping us narrow down what might be the issue here.
January 15, 2018 at 10:54 pm #1427277ColmParticipantHi Cliff
They are non-recurring events. Perhaps they were updated but the entries look identical.
Here is an example (you do not need to be a member to view)
https://www.facebook.com/events/120009005382841
http://gaytodo.com/event/film-screening-undertow-javier-fuentes-leon-2009/

January 16, 2018 at 8:04 pm #1428222CliffMemberThanks for the additional information.
On my test site, I imported the single event from https://www.facebook.com/events/120009005382841
Then, after I imported it once, I went to import it again (both times via One-Time Import option) and it did not duplicate.
Please let me know if you’re experiencing something different or if you’re using a different URL as a Schedule Import.
January 17, 2018 at 12:38 am #1428275ColmParticipantHi Cliff
I’m scheduling the import from this facebook page
January 18, 2018 at 11:07 pm #1430224CliffMemberWhen I imported that URL as a One-Time Import, I got this message:
Import complete!
1 existing event was updated. 1 new image was imported.Could you please try one-time import and see if this operates any differently from how it works when scheduled?

This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
