    I’m just posting this because my previous thread is already closed, and others might find the additional information in this post useful.

    The problem was that the Redirection plugin was generating bogus 301 redirects whenever I edited the description of an event. The fix was to go into the Options page of the Redirection plugin, and setting “Monitor changes to posts” to “Don’t monitor”.
