ParticipantHello,
We updated from an old version of Events Calendar Pro (1.3.3) to a current version today (4.4.24.2). Manually deleted the previous plugin folder and installed the new version. Event categories, venues, and events are now missing from the new version. Please advise.

KeymasterHi Andrew,
Thanks for reaching out to us! I’d be happy to help you 🙂
Those events data should still be in your databse. To get them back, my advice would be to downgrade the plugin to a past version.
You’ll find past versions in My Account > Downloads.
Make sure that even if you downgrade, you are running compatible versions of all Events plugins. So if you need to downgrade Events Calendar PRO, you’ll need to also downgrade The Events Calendar and any other Events plugins you are running.
Here are the steps to perform a downgrade:
- Make a full backup of your files and database in case another problem happens.
- Delete The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO plugins. Go to WP-Admin > Plugins. Find those two plugins you wish to downgrade, and click Deactivate. Once the plugins are deactivated, you can now click Delete.
- Add the new plugins. Once all of the plugins have been deleted, click the “Add New” button on that same page. This will take you to the Add Plugins page. Click the button that says “Upload Plugin”. In the file chooser, select one of the plugins that you previously downloaded then click Install Now.
- Go back to WP-Admin > Plugin, and activate all of the plugins you just downgraded.
I hope this helps. Please do let me know if you managed to retrieve your missing data.
Cheers,

ParticipantHi Jeremy,
I am stuck…
I have rolled back to the oldest available version of The Events Calendar and TEC Pro. I have also tried several versions between the oldest and most current. Each attempt has yielded the same results…no events data appears within the events list. Interestingly, each version I have tried recognizes that the plugin is licensed – which I am assuming is also stored in the DB. I have also tried installing older versions and then performing the update process. What do we do next to recover the events data?

ParticipantI am having the same issue and we are also using event tickets and event tickets plus. However, if I roll back then I get error messages saying the versions need to be updated but when they are multiple events go missing. As some of these events are coming up soon I am hoping there will be a solution soon?

KeymasterHi Andrew,
Are your past events still displayed on list view? And if you simply edit one event and press update, do they show up again?
I noticed your post_max_size is only 8M, that might not be sufficient. Could you ask your web host provider to upgrade this value to 64M?
Ideally, you would need the following values:
memory_limit = 256M upload_max_size = 64M post_max_size = 64M upload_max_filesize = 64M max_execution_time = 300 max_input_time = 1000
I hope that will help.
Hi jharris, I’m sorry you have a similar issue. If you need a personalized assistance, please start a new thread, so we could get more information about your setup.
Have a nice day,
