ParticipantHello,
I have found that the Event Phone number that is imported by the plugin does not appear to actually go anywhere. It is neither the organizer phone number nor the venue but that being said, it would be very useful to have an Event Phone number that is not either of the others. Is this intentional or a bug? Also, is there some tutorial on creating a custom import plugin? I am having to modify the current code in the plugin for importing custom attributes.

MemberHi Adam!
I think it’s a bug/oversight – and will make a note to have this corrected, thanks for bringing it to our attention ๐

I’m afraid that at this time there is not – can I ask though what you’re trying to do? Perhaps it would make a good feature request?

ParticipantHi Barry,
Thanks for responding, I appreciate you making a note. I think that there is supposed to be a meta key of _EventPhone that just never got implemented. I am going to have to manually implement it as it’s something my customer wants (especially after they noticed it in the import).
The problem is with the import, we have defined custom fields through the Events plugin and we need to import them, so I have had to manually add the keys. I think that it would be trivial (and I may implement this myself) to just programmatically pull all the keys without having to explicitly define them. In the meantime I am just modifying the core files unfortunately.

MemberIt’s definitely best to avoid editing core plugin files if you can help it: so long as you understand the risks though we’ll leave it to your discretion and I definitely wish you luck, but – to see changes in future releases of the plugin – the best course of action is to post feature requests if you haven’t already done so.
Since I don’t think there’s much more we can do on this occasion I’ll go ahead and close this thread. If we can help with any other issues though please do feel free to create new threads as needed.
Good luck ๐

MemberHi there,
I just wanted to drop in and update you on the status of this issue. We are working on a fix, but we were not able to include it in our upcoming release (3.7). Correcting this problem is still important to us and we hope to have a fix done for a future maintenance release. We will do our best to keep you updated here on our progress. Thank you for your patience and understanding while we work on this.
