I’ve used the [tribe_mini_calendar] shortcode in a post to pull in the calendar to test some things with pro. It’s not where it will live in the future but currently the rest of site isn’t built yet.

In testing and trying a few things, I’ve noticed that on page load, if a month doesn’t have any events, then clicking anywhere on the calendar (other than month navigation) will link to:
    https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/pro-widget-shortcodes/#mini-cal-shortcode

This seems like odd behavior to me, as if there aren’t any events, I wouldn’t expect the calendar to be clickable.

If I navigate to future months and click back to this month, then it acts as expected (days aren’t clickable).

I don’t have any other plugins activated and have been unable to find anything in the forums/docs with a variety of search terms. I’ve also gone through the settings and don’t think I’ve seen anything that would change this behavior.

I added an event for this month. The day of the event the link works correctly (isn’t clickable).

All other days for the month still link to:

    Hey David,

This is an odd issue – sorry you’ve run into this on your site. Can you link to a page on your site where we could see this behavior in person, and try clicking on the empty calendars ourselves? That would be immensely helpful for troubleshooting purposes here.

Please note that we cannot log into customer sites. So while your site isn’t fully built yet and you might not want it to be publicly accessible, it will need to be public for us to see it – it’s only temporary, and we’ll work as fast as possible so that if your site is meant to be private during construction, you can put it back to Private as soon as possible.

    Thank you!

    George,

    Thanks for the quick reply!

Since the site is still in development it’s gated with username/password. I’ll see what I can do to provide access and what else I can find out on my own.

Thanks David! Sorry about the username/password policy on our end of things, it’s just a strict security and legal policy that, while a bit of a pain to work with sometimes, is much safer.

    Keep us posted on things!

    Found the issue.

A while ago I had copied and pasted the [tribe_mini_calendar] shortcode from a site. Found that the shortcode was nested in an anchor tag. Easy to miss in the WYSIWYG but still a goofy mistake. So it’s been going on all this time, I just didn’t notice it until this week.

Thanks for the update David! I’m glad you found the issue. I’ll close up this thread for now then, but if other issues or questions arise, come back and open a new thread at any time.

    Cheers!
    George
