I have currently installed and am testing the Events Calendar basic functionality – which, if I understand correctly, receives updates (security and otherwise) like any other free plugin.
I’m contemplating upgrading to the Pro version on account of some of the extra features, however, I’m unclear on the updates after the one year license expires. Will the client whose site this is receive notifications that the plugin has an update, even if the license expires, and will consequently need to both renew the license and update the plugin? If the client decides not to do any updates for over a year, can he/she renew the expired license at any time? If the license is updated regularly, are plugin updates automatically shown for the PRO version?
