Events Calendar Sidebar Not Filtering by

The event sidebar widget on my websites is not filtering by category.
It is set to pull only one category of events, but is pulling all.

Before I start disabling plug-ins to test this – are there any known conflicts? Please advise.

Thanks for using our plugins and welcome to the forums! I’m sorry about the issue you are experiencing with the sidebar widget. Let’s try to get down to the bottom of that.

In your system information I see you are using a somewhat older version of our plugins. It is advised to keep them up-to-date as that might solve the issues. I would recommend updating after making a full backup of your site.

If the update doesn’t solve the issue, then please share with me a URL to the page where you are experiencing this and we’ll dig further.

Thanks for the reply Andras. No luck though. We have 3 websites that are similarly set up. The website we updated is http://www.chicagoareayoga.com/. The widget publishes the Upcoming Events half way down the page.
It should only pull from our events/workshop categories, but is pulling from all. The different categories we have are viewed in the nav bar under calendar. Thank you.

Could you please send me some screenshots of how that page and the widget is set up?

Also, it would be great if you could check the following:

• Put the widget with the same settings in to a regular widget area and check if it works fine there. It might be that since the widget is placed in the main content area, there are some things affecting it.
• Switch to a default theme like twentysixteen and check if the widget works fine there. This can help us find out if there is something in your theme or some customization that is influencing how the widget behaves.
