ParticipantOvernight the Events Calendar settings on our website appear to have been wiped/reverted to default, and our events categories no longer display correctly. The stylesheets used on our events pages appear to have changed too. Nobody in office has made any deliberate changes and we’re not sure what’s caused this. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Note: We’ve not yet tried to deactive plugins or revert to previous themes as we have little experience in these areas and don’t want to break things further.

MemberHi – I’m sorry to hear you are experiencing difficulties.
I suspect something changed to cause this, and I wonder if someone on your team changed the display settings? The event category archives you shared appear to be condensed, rather as if they are being turned by your theme into excerpts.
With that in mind, the first thing I’m going to recommend is that you visit Events → Settings → Display then change the template setting so that instead of Default Page Template, which I think you might currently be using, you use the Default Events Template instead.
Can you give that a try and let me know if it helps?

ParticipantThanks Barry, changing it to Default Events Template fixed the issue.
In terms of how this happened, I’m the only person with access to the website who would have been likely to change anything, and I didn’t touch the settings – it does look on our end as though all Events Calendar settings reverted to their defaults. (Our slugs had all changed from ‘spevents’ to ‘events’/’event’, currency had changed from £ to $, cutoff time had changed from 04:00am to 12:00am.) Very odd.

MemberThat is odd and I’m afraid I can only really offer vague guesses as to why it might have happened; to the best of my knowledge though this isn’t a common problem or one that we’ve ever been able to pin down as a valid bug.
With that in mind I don’t think there’s too much more we can do to help – but we’d definitely be interested to hear if it occurs again at some future point: does that work for you and do you have any further questions before I close this topic out?
