Events Calendar Pro – sort events by category

Hello,
I’m very interested in purchasing the events pro plugin. I’d like to know if it is possible to sort the events according to their category on the calendar view page. Something similar to this: http://wp.baynvc.org/calendar/

Thanks for the interest in our plugins.

We do not have a method to sort Events by Category on the Month View, but this plugin may get you close to what you are looking for:

The Events Calendar: Category Colors

That will work with the free version of the Events Calendar as well.

Hi Brian,

I just read your reply regarding categories. I am hoping you can explain further or offer a suggestion. I am building an events directory that allows users to submit their events. To avoid having to set up multiple installs of WP and run lots of subdirectories for each category, I need to allow the customer to initially choose a category. Example would be:
Choose one: Tennis Events Golf Events Basketball Event Baseball Events
Then the user would be brought to the calendar to choose time/date/location to get a listing of all the events in that category.

Is it possible to do this with Events Calendar Pro and any plugins you can suggest? Or will it be necessary for me to set up separate installs per category?

Also, is it possible to have an rss feed out with the events data? I need this to feed a mobile app, unless you offer another solution for an iOS and Android app.

Please advise.

Hi Barry,

The Events Calendar (free version) has category views built in to it.

So if you have a category called Convention the url to see the Calendar Views would be”

yoursite.com/events/category/convention/

There is a feed setup for that view as well:

yoursite.com/events/category/convention/feed/

We do not have any other way to feed content out of the site.

The filter bar add on can sort the main event views by categories, but does not have a feature to prompt a visitor to select a category before showing events.
