GuestHi.
I wonder if Events Calendar PRO is able to show Featured Events and Next Events by using a shortcode.
On the home page we would like that some events would be featured and appear always on top, and also below have a list with the incoming events (4, 6, 10 or the number we would like to show)
Thanks

MemberHey Jairo! Love the avatar — you look like the perfect cross between Homer and Flanders. 🙂
Nice question. Events Calendar PRO does include a number of shortcodes that embed the calendar’s available widgets on any page or post.
One of those is a list of upcoming events and you can filter that to show a specific category. For example, create an event category called “Featured” then filter the widget settings so that is only displays events with the Featured category, and those will be the only listed events.
From there, you could add a second widget to the homepage that displays all upcoming events, regardless of what category they are in. 🙂
Will something like this work for you? Please let me know.
Cheers!

GuestHello from Springfield,
It sounds great that I can set a category “Featured” and then use it as a filter with any shortcode.
Let me ask you one more question:
Our customer sells tickets with this partner https://www.ticketea.com.
So, in this case, the BUY button should link to ticketea’s website.
We also could add an iframe to the single event page if we want to sell ticket in our site.Do The Events Calendar support creating new templates ?
I mean in the way which many other plugins supports: creating a folder in the theme folder, something like … /wp-content/theme/my-theme/event-calendar/single-event.php or /wp-content/theme/my-theme/event-calendar/events-list.phpI think we could customize this templates http://wpshindig.com/event/eventbrite-tickets-demo-event/ and add the scripts in order to work with Ticketea.
Cheers 🙂

MemberAwesome question!
You can absolutely create your own calendar templates — whether it’s customizing an existing one using a template override (more on this in our Themer’s Guide) or it’s creating a new theme template altogether and constructing it with your own custom query or using our tribe_get_events() function as a methods for fetching event content and info. Either of those methods will allow you to create your own integration with a ticketing solution of your choice.
Does that help answer your question?
Cheers!
