Events Calendar Pro Not Working

    I just upgraded to the Events Calendar Pro in order to use the sidebar mini calendar widget for a client. However, after installing it none of the Events Calendar Pro functionality is working, and I’m getting an error message that says “To begin using Events Calendar PRO, please install the latest version of The Events Calendar.” Both the Events Calendar and the Events Calendar Pro are currently at version 4.0.2. I uninstalled and reinstalled both, and the error persists.

    Also, while there are four events in the system, only one is showing in the backend. You can see what I’m talking about here: http://widgets.vtoxford.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/12/screenshot.jpg

    I have no idea if this is related or not, but I only noticed it after the issue with Calendar Pro cropped up, so it might be an associated problem or symptom.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hey Matthew and sorry for the trouble here!

    That is very odd. I am testing this on my site as well and PRO seems to be working well with the latest versions installed. Doesn’t mean it’s not an issue, i’m just having a tough time replicating it.

    I know you have already tried:

      <li class=”troubleshoot_plugins”>Deactivated all other plugins? Yes
      <li class=”troubleshoot_theme”>Switched to a default theme? Yes

    Did you notice any difference in this conditions? How about if you do both of those together?

    If you’re still seeing the issue when no other plugins are active and a default theme is active, would you be willing to leave the site in that default state so I could check it out? And when you, pasting your updated system information in here as a private reply would be helpful as well.

    So sorry about this! Let’s start here and see what we find.

    I did do that last night–tried it once, then tried it again after I got frustrated and nothing else was working. It didn’t work either time.

    This time, though, it does actually seem to be working. And keeps working when I’ve turned the rest of my plugins back on, as well. I have no idea what I did to fix it, but it’s working. It’s entirely possible that the other coder I work with did something last night after I left work that I don’t know about, or an automatic updater fixed the problem in one of the other plugins I have, but whatever the reason the issue is now resolved. Albeit in a somewhat mysterious manner.

    Ack, those phantom issues! I wonder if local caching had something to do with it — that’s a possibility as well.

    Either way, I am stoked things are working. Please do hit us with a new thread if it comes back up and we’d be happy to help.
