ParticipantI recently purchased Events Calendar Pro and noticed several issues that I was hoping you could help me resolve.
1. When importing from ical, google, or facebook; the calendar doesn’t seem to pick up recurring events that have the same title but occur on different dates. This makes going into each one to set up the venue, photo, and organizer info, if not present from the import, very tedious. Is there a way to link these events together so by editing one it effects like manually created recurring events?
2. When trying to manually set up a recurring event, I noticed I wasn’t able to schedule the recurring event for something like: occurs on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month. Is this possible or will I have to create two recurring events by the same name with one scheduled for the 1st Tuesday and the other scheduled for the 3rd Tuesday of every month?
3. Is there a way to block photos when importing events from Facebook as the images aren’t normally the same size or optimized for web? Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

KeymasterHi Cody,
Thanks so much for reaching out!

Each source handles recurring events differently. If you can provide me with one of the URLs where you are seeing this issue, I’d love to test things on my own site to get a better sense of what you are seeing.

You can try setting something up like the following, or you can create a custom recurrence rule to include the specific dates that your event occurs on:

Unfortunately, there isn’t a way to do this at this time. For now, you can import the image and then remove the image from the post.
Let me know if you have any other questions on this topic!
Thanks,
Jaime

ParticipantHere is a test source for a facebook import: https://www.facebook.com/catnbirdwinery/
How do I create a custom recurrence rule? What you suggested for issue 2 wouldn’t work because setting something up for the 1st and 3rd Tuesday wouldn’t always be 2 weeks away (See 5/29/18). I’m not sure about what options are on a custom recurrence rule but I can see if that works for that issue.

KeymasterHi Cody,
Thanks for providing me with that information. Unfortunately there isn’t a way to link these events together to bulk edit them. You can import one of the events, and then add the additional dates in the Edit Event page as recurring events. From there, you can edit the other information on that page as well.
For the custom recurrence rule, you can select the exact dates that you want your event to recur, like this:

Let me know if you have any other questions on this topic!
Thanks,
Jaime

ParticipantThanks. Not sure why I was blind to the “Add More Events” button before, but that resolves issue 2 for me. Hopefully The Events Calendar will be able to resolve issue 1 and 3 in a future update. It would greatly improve management of imported events.
