ParticipantI use the Genesis Grid plugin which applies the built-in grid loop functionality of Genesis to blog, category and archive pages (http://wordpress.org/plugins/genesis-grid-loop/) by running a query on loops and attaching classes of .one-third etc. to articles. However, when I activate the Events Calendar plugin, it stops working. When viewing the source, I notice that the classes are removed, so I guess that the Genesis Grid plugin is blocked by the Events Calendar (Pro) plugin. I don’t know which plugin is to blame, and I would understand if it’s Genesis Grid’s problem or that this is not covered by standard support – if so, please do let me know.

MemberHi jaapstronks,
I’m not sure I can see the problem.
I picked Eleven Forty as a fairly standard example of a Genesis theme, installed the plugin you mentioned and could see it’s effects. I then activated The Events Calendar and could still see it was applying the relevant classes to posts. Finally I activated Events Calendar PRO and again, no change.
Is it possible something else is having a knock-on effect? Can you try this with only our plugins/this grid plugin and a Genesis theme, then perhaps try a different Genesis theme and see if you can isolate anything else that might be impacting.
Have you enabled include events in the main blog loop and have you tried turning it off if so?
Thanks!

ParticipantHi, I just built a completely fresh install of WordPress with only the latest versions of The Events Calendar, Genesis and the Grid Loop Plugin activated. Even with only the Genesis framework itself activated as a theme, the Grid Loop (GL) plugin does not work once The Events Calender (TEC) is activated. The same with any Genesis child theme I use. So, we can rule out any other cause except GL and TEC conflicting with each other. (I did not enable ‘include events in the main blog loop.)
Now, I don’t know which one is to ‘blame’: TEC for breaking GL or GL being vulnerable to becoming broken by the hands of TEC – I guess it depends, but let’s operate under the assumption it’s probably the Grid Loop’s fault – but they don’t offer support. Would you be willing to take a look into what’s causing this issue? I’d be happy to pay for premium support if this could be resolved in the next week or so. Thanks!

Memberjaapstronks, I sympathize but I’m not sure there is much more we can do to help:
- As described in my first reply, I can’t replicate this issue
- I just repeated the test using Genesis without any child themes. Both the grid plugin and The Events Calendar were able to operate side-by-side and it was pretty clear visually that the grid effect was being applied (and indeed I could see the relevant CSS classes such as .one-half being applied)
- So, though we’re happy to take a look and have done so, this is not only a pretty specific problem relating to a third party plugin but additionally is a problem that we just can’t see
Please also note that there is no higher tier of support you can pay for at this time.
I appreciate it must be a fairly frustrating situation for you, but right at this moment I’m afraid we can’t do much else to assist. Given that and the fact that the authors of the other plugin will not themselves provide you with support I could really only suggest working with a suitable developer who can provide a higher level of assistance (and if you would like a list of people we recommend please do email us at pro [at] tri [dot] be).

ParticipantWell, that’s strange, but thanks for your assistance, I’ll use something else for the grid loop effect.
