ParticipantChanges that are made in the dashboard are not being shown correctly. For example: I delete an event, it is removed from the event list. I then reload the event list from the dashboard menu Events > Events and the event that I just deleted is still there and nothing is showing in the trash.
I am using the ‘Varnish HTTP Purge’ plugin – I clear the cache (purge varnish) and the deleted event is still showing. I then refresh the page and the event is not showing and there is one item in the trash. I go to the trash and I do not see the event that I just deleted. I purge varnish or refresh the page and I see the event in the trash. I click on ‘delete permanently’ and it is remove from the trash leaving the trash empty.
I then reload the event list from the dashboard menu Events > Events and see that there is something in the trash. I go back to the trash and there is the event. I delete it again permanently and it disappears from the list.
I see similar issues with events that have been edited and the changes are seemingly not saved, but then refreshing the page shows the changes. But then, even after clearing browser cache, varnish cache, the changes are not displayed.I have duplicated the site on a local Apache server and none of these issues occur.

ParticipantHowdy Joe,
I would love to help you as best I’m able.
Are you using W3TC? How have you setup Varnish? What pages and is it caching and when does it purge the cache?
You probably are already thoroughly versed in such things, but Varnish should be set to ignore wp-admin entirely. Further it should not be serving pages to logged in users.
You might double check that Varnish is the culprit here and not some other caching. You could do this by finding an event in WP Admin, noting it’s ID #, then finding the event in your database’ wp_posts table. Now make a change in WP Admin. Presumably you will not see the change take effect immediately. as you currently are experiencing. But, does the wp_posts table update immediately? Are you seeing the change in the database?
Cheers!
