    I have set the main events page as the static home page in the reading settings. When I do this it also sets the blog page as the blog page as the main events page. It is not a theme issue because when I switch to the default WordPress theme the same problem persists. It is not a plugin issue. I have dome a plugin conflict test.

    When I set the home page as a page other than the main events page my blog page shows the most recent posts as expected.

    This is a site in development and I do not want to post the URL to the public forum.

    Upon further investigation it was a plugin conflict isue. Thank you for all your help.
