GuestDoes Events Calendar work on WordPress.com or is it intended for use only with WordPress.org websites?

KeymasterHello,
Thanks for checking out our plugins! You can use them on any website that is using the WordPress platform, so either one is fine.
Please let me know if you have any more questions!
Thanks,
Jennifer

GuestI am on the board of a nonprofit and we offer our events free. Our current website uses EventBrite that pushes potential event attendees to the EventBrite website to sign up. I am building a new WordPress.com website for our organization and I love the integration of Event Calendar and Event Tickets as everything will be under our control and on our new website. However, I have a question about “wait listing”. Eventbrite has enabled “wait listing” for us. We offer our events and tours free and they often book up but people often drop out before the event and “wait listing” has enabled us to offer these spots to others on the “wait list”. Does Event Tickets have this options?

KeymasterUnfortunately there is not currently any out of the box functionality for wait listing. However, you could import your events into your calendar using Eventbrite Tickets (or create events in the calendar and push them to Eventbrite). This would let you promote the events on your site, but ultimately ticket sales could be handled through Eventbrite. If they clicked on your site to buy a ticket that you created in Eventbrite, they would be directed to that event on eventbrite.com. This way, you should be able to keep your waitlisting feature!
I also want to note that we do have a Nonprofit Partnership Program that you may be interested in applying for. It offers free versions of Event Tickets Plus and Events Calendar Pro to approved organizations (please note that it does not cover Eventbrite Tickets and does not include support in our premium forums, which requires a premium license).
Let me know if I can help you with anything else!

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
