ParticipantI’ve been running Events Calendar Pro and core at version 2.0.9 for several years. All was fine until I recently began incrementally updating the plugin. I have numerous custom fields in the single event view. Upon installing version 3.0 for both plugins, the custom fields disappeared, leaving only the basic info: event, date, venue, etc.
I tried different version combinations and with core at 2.0.11, I was able to install Pro up to version 3.0.2 before losing views of the custom fields. Newer versions caused the custom fields to disappear, then eventually the event totally vanished at about version 3.5 on both.
Wordpress version is 4.7.2 and was a fresh install. I’ve disabled all plugins except the calendar and set the theme at Twenty Fourteen or Fifteen. There are no custom themes. I’m making the upgrades to a cloned version of my site. Also, I delete the calendar plugins before uploading a substitute version. I’ve looked through all the help pages and am still without a solution (or cause). Advice, please.

ModeratorHello,
Sorry to see you’re having troubles updating. Unfortunately, coming from such an old version is likely to come with conflict as you’ve experienced. Is the custom field data still in your database after updating past version PRO 3.0.2?
I could find one relative thread on the matter, but a unfortunately a solution is not provided. I imagine it might be easiest to export the custom fields only on the 2.0.9 version using either an SQL query or a plugin developed specifically for exporting data. From there, compare what an exported file from the most recent version looks like and see if you can merge the old custom fields into the updated custom fields format.
Please keep me updated with the status of your issue and have a good afternoon 🙂

KeymasterHey there! This thread has been pretty quiet for the last three weeks, so we’re going to go ahead and close it to avoid confusion with other topics. If you’re still looking for help with this, please do open a new thread, reference this one and we’d be more than happy to continue the conversation over there.
Thanks so much!
