GuestHi,
Is it possible to display a calendar by location and then filter it by categories?
E.g. Let’s say we have events all around the globe and you select London from the menu, so you’ll see the events calendar for London only. Then you could go ahead and filter the events by category: arts, sports, music, etc.

ParticipantHey Jonathan,
Thanks for reaching out.
This is unfortunately only possible if you have the Filter Bar add-on, which provides the category filtering. Once this add-on is installed, then yes:
The Tribe Bar allows you to show events “near” a location by using the “Near:” filter, and then once you filter events by location you can use the separate Filter Bar to additionally filter by category.
You can see an example of all of this on our demo site here → http://wpshindig.com/events/
The Tribe Bar is the horizontal bar that sits atop the calendar there, while the Filter Bar is the vertical bar on the left side of the page.
I hope this information helps!

GuestOk,
I see but I’m still not sure if it fits our needs. What if I’m in San Diego anda want to see only the events in London. Then I should be able to go to the London’s page and see the london’s event calendar with it’s filters.
Is that how it works? ‘Cause in the demos you’re showing me it shows events from all around the globe and we need to show the events for specific locations.

ParticipantHey Jonathan,
Thanks for elaborating a bit here.
Your language here seems to clarify what you are looking for:
Then I should be able to go to the London’s page
☝️ I highlighted “page” there because, unfortunately, making true pages that have filtered events by location is not possible at this time. 🙁
The closest you could get to this is to give each city or other location denomination its own Event Category. So, all events happening in London could be in the “London” Event Category. This would then allow for links like this:
• example.com/events/category/london
or:
• example.com/events/category/san-francisco
And so on…there is no other way, at this time, to pull off something like:
• example.com/events/in/london
or:
• example.com/events/location/san-francisco
Sorry to disappoint! I hope this information is bit more helpful than my earlier replies—let me know what you think.
Cheers,
