ParticipantI just upgraded to Events Calendar 3.0 (I bought the PRO version, but have deactivated it for now while I sort through these issues). The main challenge at the moment is getting it to working with my theme. Events Calendar 2.0 worked perfectly, but once I upgraded to Events Calendar 3.0 I lost the page title and the sidebar was pushed down below the content. As a temporary measure I have resorted to using the “Tribe Event Styles” and the “Default Events Template” to avoid the sidebar issue.
Any suggestions you have to pass along are much appreciated. I spent a few hours pouring through the forum posts and documentation, but have come up empty. My site is http://learndaylite.com and the events page is http://learndaylite.com/courses-webinars.

ParticipantI think there may be a missing in the code somewhere. I’ve had to add an extra to my calendar template pages to make my sidebar align properly.

ParticipantThanks for your response, Kyle. When you say a missing in the code…are you referring to something in Events Calendar 3 or the code for the theme? If it’s the latter I would have thought that this is something that would have surfaced in Events Calendar 2 — the theme is unchanged since I upgraded to Events Calendar 3.

ParticipantFor some reason, on two different themes, I’ve had to add an extra “end div” to my events template pages, otherwise the sidebar wraps. I’m assuming the calendar display code might be missing one?

ParticipantI’ve run in to this same problem. I am using the Twenty Eleven theme and the previous version worked great in this page. See http://events.stcwdc.org/events/
Now the sidebar is pushed down below the calendar and narrowed, the three footer sidebars are missing, and the page title and browser tab add 404 Not Found in the page title.I tried both Full Styles and the Tribe Events Styles with the Default Page Template and with the Sidebar Template to get the sidebars back but nothing worked. If I use the Default Events Template, the calendar fills the whole page and there are no sidebars at all, which is useful.

ParticipantOmitted a word at the end. which is “not” useful
By the way, I did refresh permalinks but that didn’t help the 404 Not Found–don’t now if that has anything to do with the sidebar problem.July 5, 2013 at 8:05 am #53432Tim Stringer
ParticipantCynthia — Thanks for your comments. I ended up restoring a recent WordPress backup…and in the process reverting to Events Calendar 2.0.11. I’ve been in touch with the theme developer (Progression Studios) and will look at upgrading to Events Calendar 3 once I have more compatibility information from him.

ParticipantI have the same problem with the sidebar down below the calendar. I’m also seeing a breadcrumb on the main events page that wasn’t there before and “By Author,” which I don’t want. Upgrade documentation would be helpful.

ParticipantHi everybody,
Sorry to hear about all the issues. If each one of you could please limit your post to an individual thread for your particular issue, that would be much easier to handle than replying to everyone individually here. technicallysimple, it sounds like you are working on this with the theme developer. Ultimately you’re probably going to have to work with them or hire someone to help you.
We changed a lot of things in this version and with any major upgrade like this you should always to the update in a test environment first, verify things look ok, make modifications if they don’t and then push all that to the live site. There’s enough that changed with all the new views, underlying code, markup, templates, etc. that this upgrade is likely going to cause theme compatibility problems for many people, but unfortunately we will not be able to provide full support for these things and you will either need to hire a developer or work it out on your own. We can provide some basic guidelines and samples of what you may need to fix, but we simply do not have the resources to be able to resolve everyones issues.
Sorry I don’t have better news here. Please everyone else create new threads for your particular issue and we will address them as soon as we can.
Thanks,

ParticipantHi Jonah, if adding an “end div” to events templates is the solution for the sidebar, could you let me know which files to edit and where to place this tag? Thanks!

ParticipantHi tabitagreen,
I’m not aware of there being any unclosed div’s from our plugin and I doubt that there are. My guess is there’s an unclosed div from something else and I would begin to be able to know where that is. You’ll need to dig through the code and figure it out.

ParticipantHi, I just think it’s odd that several people are having this issue after the upgrade. Of course, it’s happening only on one of my websites… I will check with StudioPress and see what they have to say.
